This course will provide you with all the information you need for keeping your own hens. We will take a look at the hen set up here on the estate and then head over to the granary kitchen to discuss more on how to source and care for your hens.
Aside from the pure and simple joy of keeping hens, there are plenty of other advantages. They also taste so much better.
Topics covered:
Getting started - why keep your own hens? How many do you need? Where to buy? What to feed them? What’s involved in caring for them.
Breeds and what colour egg they lay.
Recommendations on choosing a coop and other supplies needed to get started.
Poultry Suppliers
This will be a fun and informative afternoon with tea, coffee and cake included.
You will leave with details notes on all the information we discussed throughout the afternoon along with 6 fresh eggs!
